Filmoplast® is a self-adhesive and tear-away stabilizer for fixing fabrics that must not be clamped in the embroidery hoop, e.g. pressure-sensitive fabrics such as corduroy or velvet, fabrics that are too thick such as wool felt or fabrics with different thicknesses, as well as blanks that are too small such as patch pockets.
Use for machine embroidery: Clamp Filmoplast® in the center of the embroidery hoop with the checkered backing paper side facing up. Trim back the excess stabilizer including the corners. Slit the backing paper crosswise with a pin and remove only the paper so that the adhesive side of the stabilizer is exposed. Stick on the fabric to be embroidered and embroider. Always tear the embroidery from the Filmoplast® towards the center, preferably with the embroidery motif still attached.
If the same motif is to be embroidered several times in the same size and position, e.g. on a collar corner, cuff or napkin, the stretched Filmoplast® can be used several times. To do this, after removing the embroidered fabric, close the resulting hole with a remaining piece of Filmoplast® and stick on the next fabric.
